The NAO is proud to announce that at the NAO AGM Zoom meeting held on Sunday 28th March 2021, Karolyn Broadhead was taken by surprise when the NAO Chairperson stated she had been awarded the NAO Merit Award for 2021!
Karolyn is a well- known Composer, Adjudicator, Teacher and BCA Examiner who began playing the accordion at the age of 9, studying at the Leicester School of Music gaining her LBCA Performers Diploma.
Karolyn has been a member of the BCA Orchestra, including making numerous successful recordings and has arranged music for a variety of musical productions. |

The NAO Executive Committee welcomes you to our website.
Our website aims to help, support and promote our members for all those preparing to enter our series of Area Festivals and the UK Accordion Championships, International Competitions or in doing concerts and entertaining the public.
It also provides information about past competitions and entry information for future events.
The website also has some of our NAO's history, from the first Accordion Day in 1935, the formation of the NAO in 1949, the hosting of 5 CIA Coupe Mondiale World Competitions ……………..Given the Covid 19 Pandemic, we hope to host a UK Festival in the Autumn 2022. In meantime we must reiterate that important statement – stay well, stay healthy and we look forward to meeting in person soon!
